Residents in Zamfara have expressed mixed reactions over the shutdown of all Telecommunications network services in the State.

During an assessment tour conducted by Radio Nigeria in 5 local government areas of the State (Gusau, Birnin Magaji, Zurmi, Kaura Namoda and Bungudu LGAs) it was gathered that, majority of the interviewed residents have accepted the order saying it is a welcome development to enable security personnel deal with the Criminals who are killing, abducting, miming and destroying properties of the State Populace.

Mamu Muhammad an ICT expert said, the situation was difficult but expressed hope that, the banditry will come to an end; Babangida Sani whose business rely on network services said the situation is terrible and unbearable saying, his business activities have stopped thereby pushing him in hard situation.

On his Part, Dr. Emmanuel Ochara, a lecturer on the Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda while revealing his mixed reactions urged residents to bear the situation as it was for a good reason of saving lives and property that have being in a predicaments overs year.

He described the Shutdown of the Network Services as a welcome development to end the lingering insecurity beveling the State.

In Gusau the state Capital, youths who previously engaged in Social Media platforms were now seen playing games, watching video and other offline activities with Phones.

Samaila Abubakar who among the youths and a tailor said, government has banned selling fuel in Jerrycans hence making it difficult to fuel his generator and no access to network services to engage himself in chatting with friends he opted to watching films and playing games with his phone.

Our reporter Observed long Cues at ATM Machines of some few banks as most of the Banks ATM and POS terminals were not dispensing Cash.
