The Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to modernize the use of information technology in the administration of the state and to reduce the cost of running the state.

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje stated this during a seminar organized by the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy for the Kano State Executive Council Members held in Kano.

Ganduje said his administration was trying to put the governance on the Internet to simplify matters and limit government expenditure.

The governor assured that he would continue to come up with strategies of streamlining government operations in line with global best practices.

Earlier, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Ali Isa Pantami, said the training was conducted for the Executive Council following a recent visit by Governor Ganduje who requested the seminar to improve the capacity building of the Kano Exco.

He said the training would help to improve governance and reduce running costs for the benefits of the public in the state.

He noted that Kano being the commercial hub center of Northern Nigeria and the most populated state needed to key into digital Economy.

Dr. Pantami added that his ministry had donated more than 100 computers to the Kano state government to encourage the government to adapt to the new system of governance.
