Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has ratified the recruitment of 1,638 Youths into Social Work Scheme across the 16 local government area of the state.

Addressing the beneficiaries, during the enrollment exercise in Ilorin, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who was represented by the Commissioner for Environment, Mrs Remilekun Banigbe charged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the scheme and change their present insolvent state.

He advised all the beneficiaries to ensure they fully utilize the benefits of the programme which is aimed at lifting them out of poverty.

AbdulRazq urged them to indulge in contributory savings among themselves to enable them find something to fall back on .

He explained that the programme is designed to provide immediate employment opportunity in social sectors to mitigate the effect of Covid-19 Pandemic on poor households in the State.

Earlier in his address, the Technical Head of the Programme , Alhaji Shamsideen Aregbe disclosed that the scheme was designed to provide relief for vulnerable people to mitigate effect of COVID-19 pandemic.
