Federation of Muslim Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) has expressed shock and dismay as well as deep sense of sorrow over the recent spike in banditry and kidnapping in some parts of Kaduna State.

The State Amirah of FOMWAN, Pharmacist Aisha Isyaku Tukur  stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna.

The statement explains that the Association is worried over the unabated activities of bandits and kidnappers despite the efforts put in by the state Government and security Agencies.

It especially describes the recent invasion of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic and the kidnap of 8 members of same family by bandits as sad and barbaric.

It appeals to the abductors to stop these senseless activities and embrace peace, stressing that as mothers, we are deeply saddened and call on government to intensify efforts at protecting the citizenry, particularly women and children in the state.

The statement urges all well meaning Nigerians to intensify prayers to God Almighty to touch and change the hearts of the abductors.

It also allays the fears of Muslims in the troubled Areas, not to despair but to continue to seek the intervention of Allah through prayers and fasting for the return of peace, security and the spirit of brotherhood to the zone.

The statement commends Governor Nasir El Rufai and the State Commissioner for Security and internal Affairs, Samuel Aruwan for their unrelenting strides towards ensuring peaceful co-existence in the state.

FOMWAN also appeals to the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli and other Traditional rulers in the State to help in taming the monster, saying this is the time the state needs them most as Royal Fathers.
