Zamfara state Government has secured the release of fifty three people abducted by bandits in some villages under Bungudu local government area of the state.

The State Commissioner for internal security AME home affairs, Abubakar Muhammad Dauran made this known at a press briefing in Gusau, the state capital.

Abubakar Dauran expressed worry over the resurgence of armed banditry in the state especially at Yarkatsina, Damaga, Magamin Diddi, Dutse, Gabake, kurya among others.

He said the 53 people were kidnapped at Dangamji, Kwafrari, Yarkatsina ,Doka Fandahaki and Make villages in Bungudu local government area of the state and were rescued in good condition noting that no ransom was paid for their releases.

Also speaking, Zamfara state police command public relation officer SP Muhammad Shehu said police under the leadership of Cp Hussain Muhammad had adopted measures towards addressing the issue of insecurity in the state.

According to him police neutralized ten bandits at Hayin Daudu, in Mada District area of Gusau local government.

Speaking earlier on behalf of the affected communities, A community leader Alhaji Sadiq Abdullahi Yarkatsina thanked Almighty Allah for returning their people back to them.

Sadiq Yarkatsina also commended the efforts of the state government for using repentant bandits to rescue their people as well as Nigeria police and Vigilante groups.
