Borno State has appreciated the Nigerian military for decimating Boko Haram fighters while attempting to overrun Damboa town from different fronts, in southern part of the state.
In a statement by Governor Babagana Zulum in Maiduguri, says he is impressed by the combined effort of the ground and air forces, Civilian JTF and vigilantes for their gallantry in preventing insurgents from gaining access to the town.

It adds that the troops have succeeded in destroying nineteen fighting vehicles and killing scores of the insurgents during the encounter.
The statement assured that frantic efforts are being put in place to bring an end to the Boko Haram insurgency in the state.
