Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami

Federal Government says it will soon prosecute suspected financiers of Boko Haram.

Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami disclosed this in Abuja while responding to questions from State House correspondents over the recent arrest of some of the suspected financiers of the marauders.

The Minister said reasonable grounds for suspicion of terrorism financing had been established, or perhaps had been proven to be in existence in respect of the transactions of certain high-profile individuals and businessmen across the country.

He explained that since the alleged involvement of some Nigerians in terrorism financing in the United Arab Emirates, the Federal Government began a wider and far-reaching investigations in Nigeria, which exposed that a large number of people, both institutional and otherwise, were culpable.

He warned that no culprit would be spared, their status notwithstanding.

The Minister of Justice further warned that Federal Government would aggressively pursue everyone involved in terrorist financing to restore peace, trust, and confidence in Nigeria.
