Federal Executive Council has approved the augmentation of contract for Sokoto, Tambuwal, Jega and Makera road at the cost of over eight billion naira.

The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola disclosed this to State House correspondent after the council meeting held at the Presidential Villa Abuja.

He explained that the portion covering one hundred and eighty five kilometres awarded to a private firm which the company requested for the Augmentation makes council to approved it.

Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola stated that the reason for the augmentation was for price changing between twenty twelve that the contract was awarded and now.

The Minister pointed out that the costs of materials have also change and moreover the scope of work of about eighty five kilometres has to be change too.
