Jigawa State House of Assembly has suspended the Chairman of Buji Local Government Council, Alhaji Najibullahi Falalu Tukur.
Radio Nigeria reports that during its sitting, the assembly also launched an Adhoc committee, to investigate the suspended chairman on alleged gross misconduct and misappropriation of funds.
The suspension of Najibullahi Falalu Tukur followed the adaptation of recommendations on the report of the House Committee on Local Government, presented by the Committee Vice Chairman, Alhaji Sani Sale Zaburan.
According to the report, the committee recommended that the Chairman Buji Local Government Council be suspended over gross misconduct and misappropriation in line with the provisions of section:36 Subsection (2&3) of Jigawa State local government establishment law, 2024.
Announcing the suspension, the Speaker of the state house of assembly, Alhaji Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin said all government properties in his possession be handed over to the Vice Chairman of the council.
Dangyatin also announced the constitution of an Adhoc committee to investigate the gross misconduct and misappropriation against the suspended Chairman.
The composition of the committee include Alhaji Usman Abdullahi Tura Musari, member representing Guri Constituency, as Chairman, while members representing Maigatari, Malam Madori, Birnin Kudu, Yankwashi, Kafin Hausa and Sule Tankarkar will serve as committee members.
