Nasarawa State Ministry Of Youth And Sport Development says it has engaged thousands of youths into various meaningful ventures aimed at curtailing them from restiveness and social vices.
The Permanent Secretary Of the State Ministry Dr. Stephen Iliya Sasetu, disclosed this in lafia, the state capital.
Dr. Stephen Iliya Sasetu said, the Ministry had worked tirelessly in designing different programmes and activities majorly for the youths in collaboration with the National Youth Council NYC Nasarawa state chapter to ensure youths play a significant role in policy making, peace, unity, harmonious co-existence and politics that will transform their lives and the state.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry explained that, the programmes would continue to encourage and mobilize the youths to know their responsibility in their community towards contributing their quota in building the country.
According to him, the Ministry had concluded all the necessary arrangement to celebrate the international youths day which various programmes have been outline to includes, road work, sensitization and physical health exercise among many other programmes that would cater the welfare of the youths to be more useful in the society.
” One of our major role is to engage the youths to discuss with them, enlightened them and hear their challenges and the way forward apart from the core mandate of the ministry as well as we have different programmes and activities doned especially the youths summit we had last week,’ the Permanent Secretary Said”
He pointed out that every opportunity the ministry had will utilize to bring the youths together to discuss there role in maintaining the peace, unity and harmony while warning them not to allow themselves to be use by selfish politicians to destroy the future of the state.
The Permanent Secretary of the Sport Ministry also commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for providing the enabling environment to the youths with the opportunities to contribute their quota in nation building and transform the state socio economic growth.
