The Zamfara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to expanding access to quality education for adolescent girls through stronger collaboration with the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project.

The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Abdulmalik Gajam made this known during a strategic review meeting with the AGILE Project Implementation Unit led by the Zamfara State Project Coordinator, Hajiya Sa’adatu Abdu Gusau, held in Gusau, the Zamfara State Capital.

Gajam explained that, the engagement was convened to assess the progress of the AGILE Project, review its achievements, identify areas requiring greater attention, and strengthen collaboration between the Ministry and the Project Implementation Unit to improve education outcomes across the State.

He noted that, the AGILE Project has continued to play a significant role in expanding educational opportunities for adolescent girls and stressed the need for sustained coordination to ensure the programme delivers lasting benefits.

Abdulmalik Gajam commended the State Project Coordinator and the entire AGILE team for their dedication and the milestones recorded so far, urged them to remain focused, innovative, and committed to achieving greater results.

The Commissioner reaffirmed the Ministry’s unwavering support for the successful implementation of the project, emphasizing that, investing in girls’ education is critical to the sustainable development of Zamfara State.

He also underscored the importance of removing barriers to education and increasing girls’ enrolment, retention, and completion rates through collaborative efforts between the government and development partners.

Earlier, the Zamfara State AGILE Project Coordinator, Hajiya Sa’adatu Abdu Gusau, appreciated the Ministry for its continuous support and commitment to the project.

She highlighted the achievements recorded by the AGILE Project in expanding access to safe, inclusive, and quality education for adolescent girls across the State.

Hajiya Saadatu Abdu Gusau reaffirmed the project’s commitment to working closely with the Ministry to achieve its objectives.
