The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has begun registration for candidates seeking admission into Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes at Colleges of Education and non-technological agricultural programmes in polytechnics.

In a statement, JAMB spokesperson Dr Fabian Benjamin said eligible candidates with the required O’Level credits could register at any Institutional Professional Registration Centre (IPRC) in Colleges of Education or any JAMB Professional Registration Centre (PRC) nationwide.

The Federal Government had earlier waived the requirement for candidates seeking admission into NCE and non-technological agricultural programmes to sit the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Dr Benjamin said JAMB had introduced a robust admission process to ensure that only qualified candidates were admitted, while maintaining the quality and standards of the programmes.

Under the policy, candidates are not required to sit the annual UTME.

He added that candidates who sat the 2026 UTME but now wish to study an NCE or a non-technological agricultural programme could convert their application at any IPRC or JAMB PRC at no extra cost.

According to him, the policy is designed to expand access to NCE and non-technological agricultural programmes while preserving and improving the quality of the educational pathways.
