Governor Uba Sani says President Bola Tinubu has provided strong support for the execution of road and other infrastructural projects across Kaduna State over the past three and a half years.
He stated this during the commissioning of eleven road projects in Zaria and Sabon Gari Local Government Areas at Fillin Mallawa.
Governor Uba Sani noted that the President has also facilitated key Federal Government projects in the state, including the proposed Kaduna Light Rail, describing Kaduna and Lagos as the only states currently benefiting from the initiative.
He disclosed that the one trillion naira light rail project is expected to commence within the next two months, stressing that contractors have already been mobilised.
He further announced that the groundbreaking ceremony for the Mando–Birnin Gwari Road project will take place within the next week, noting that Federal Government funding has been released for the project.
On the newly flagged-off road projects, Governor Uba Sani assured residents that the roads would be completed and commissioned within five months.
According to him, the projects form part of the State Urban Renewal and Rural Transformation Programme aimed at improving connectivity, stimulating economic activities and enhancing the quality of life of citizens.
In a remark, the Speaker, House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, cited the upgrading of the Federal College of Education, Zaria, to the Federal University of Education, the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, and other tertiary education interventions as evidence of the President’s commitment to educational development in the state.
He also disclosed that there are plans to upgrade Kaduna Polytechnic to a Federal University of Technology.
