The Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund, Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, has pledged to ensure that the Centre for Skills Development and Training is fully furnished and ready for optimal operations.
He gave the assurance while leading the management team of the agency on an inspection visit to the centre in Port Harcourt.
Professor Shu’aibu Aliyu said the centre was established to equip individuals with the prerequisite technical skills required in the oil and gas industry, not only in Nigeria but across West Africa.
“This centre has an important role to play in ensuring the development of the necessary skills and manpower required at the lower and middle cadre levels within the oil and gas industry”

In his presentation, the interim management team head, Mr Uche Ikoku noted that upon completion, the facility would provide a platform for technical and vocational training, as well as certification programmes aligned with global oil and gas industry standards.
The visit highlights PTDF’s continued commitment to developing industry-ready manpower and strengthening technical capacity within Nigeria’s energy sector.
