A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, has declared that he will not withdraw from the race for the Zamfara North Senatorial seat despite alleged threats against him.

Shinkafi made the declaration while addressing journalists in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.

He maintained that his ambition remains intact, stressing that no amount of threats, allegations, or political pressure would deter him from pursuing his aspiration to represent the people of Zamfara North in the Senate.

Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi also alleged political marginalization of some local government areas in the zone, noting that Birnin Magaji, Shinkafi, and Zurmi had been sidelined in the distribution of key political positions, which he said were dominated by Kaura Namoda Local Government Area.

Speaking on a petition reportedly submitted against him to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Shinkafi dismissed the allegations as false, politically motivated, and aimed at tarnishing his reputation.

He alleged that a top politician in the state was behind a petition submitted to the EFCC, accusing him of diverting government funds during the administration of former Governor Dr. Bello Matawalle.

Dr Shinkafi called on security agencies to take note of what he described as ongoing surveillance on him, including the monitoring of his movements and bank transactions, which he attributed to the same political figure.
