Members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) have reaffirmed their confidence in the leadership of the Forum’s Chairman, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, and Deputy Chairman, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State.
The vote of confidence was passed shortly after the Forum’s meeting held on Friday in Abuja, with more than 15 governors and deputy governors in attendance.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, dismissed reports circulating on some media platforms alleging the removal of Governor Uzodinma as Chairman of the Forum.
He described the reports as false and unfounded, stressing that members of the Forum remain united under the current leadership.
Also speaking, Governor Uba Sani reiterated the Forum’s unity and commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He assured that all members of the Forum are working together to ensure the success of President Tinubu’s second-term bid.
Earlier, Governor Hope Uzodinma said the meeting was convened to review strategies and strengthen efforts toward ensuring victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.
He stated that governors under the Forum had resolved to intensify efforts in delivering good governance, improving social intervention programmes, and enhancing the welfare of Nigerians.
“We have decided to work harder, look after our people, show performance, and provide necessary social interventions that will make Nigerians happy. That is part of the resolutions reached at the meeting,” Uzodinma said.
The PGF Chairman also assured Nigerians that APC governors would support efforts toward ensuring free, fair, transparent, and hitch-free elections in 2027.
