The Nigerian Army Corps of Infantry has pulled out senior officers from active service after meritorious service to the nation.
The routine colourful event, which drew family and friends, held at the Jaji Military Cantonment in Kaduna State.
Speaking on behalf of the retired senior officers, Major General Usman Yusuf (rtd) recalled that they collectively contributed to the growth, operational successes and development of the Nigerian Army.

He noted that retirement from active military service was a natural phase in the career of every personnel, noting that the journey towards retirement begins from the day of commissioning as officer of the Armed Forces.
According to him, the event was a testament to the recognition of their sacrifices and contributions to the Nigerian Army.
He urged serving personnel to sustain the noble principles of discipline, professionalism, sacrifice and loyalty.
Major General Usman Yusuf (rtd) stressed the need for the Nigerian Army to remain proactive and ahead of adversaries at all times, in view of the contemporary evolving and complex security threats.
“The battlespace is expanding and the operational commitments of the Nigerian Army continue to increase with the eyes of the nation and international community on the military”
The retired senior officer commended past and present leadership for the opportunity given to them to serve the nation in various capacities.
Seventeen Major Generals and eleven Brigadier Generals were formally pulled out from active service.
Highpoint of the event included ceremonial parades and presentation of souvenirs.
