The governorship aspirant of the Nigeria Democratic Congress NDC in Taraba State, Professor Mohammed Sani, has urged party members to remain united, particularly during the primaries, to ensure the emergence of credible candidates.
Professor Sani made the call in an interview with Radio Nigeria, noting that the NDC as a party continues to grow with an increasing number of credible personalities decamping to the party.
He described the defection of many high level politicians to the NDC as clear indications of the party’s rising acceptance across the country.
The governorship aspirant in Taraba State further advised delegates, especially in Taraba State, to prioritise competence and credibility during the primary elections, rather than personal interests or financial inducements, warning that such actions could undermine the party’s progress.
Professor Mohammed Sani also expressed concern over the state of development in Taraba, citing challenges in key sectors such as education, healthcare, environment, housing, and road infrastructure.
He stressed that meaningful progress in these areas would depend largely on electing leaders with the capacity and integrity required to deliver effective governance.
