The Critical Stakeholders Investigation Panel set up by the Kebbi State Government to investigate the lingering power supply problems caused by Kaduna Electric has commenced town hall meetings aimed at finding lasting solutions to the issues.

Chairman of the visitation panel, Usman Abubakar Gwandu, who led the delegation, said the committee visited three emirates in the state to seek fatherly advice from the royal fathers and also hear from the general public as well as officials of Kaduna Electric.

He said Governor Nasir Idris mandated the committee to investigate the causes of the lingering epileptic power supply in the state and identify practical solutions to ensure residents enjoy improved electricity services.

The chairman further explained that the committee would meet with Kaduna Electric to discuss the causes of the persistent power outages in Kebbi and work towards a resolution and way forward.

In their separate remarks, the Emir of Yauri, Zayyanu Abdullahi, and the Emir of Zuru described the lingering power shortage as sabotage against the government, alleging that the lackadaisical attitude of some Kaduna Electric personnel contributed significantly to the challenges.

The Emir of Zuru who was represented by the Majidadin Zuru, Alhaji Umaru Isa advocate for state government to develop a four year master plan for electric supply to enable government to have time to make a permanent solution to the problem.

Some members of the emirates spoke about the attitudes of the Kedco officers lamented poor supply of the electric, estimated bills, non replacement of damaged equipments as the company before used to replace poles, transformers, and other electrical installations, but today Kaduna Electric declines, leaving such responsibilities to government and communities.

They urged the company to be fair, sincere and transparent in dealing with customers, adding that demands of Kaduna Electric on government and customers were endless.

Also speaking the Deputy Corp Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, DC Florence Adepojiu advised general public to alway protect the critical infrastructure provide to them by government at all levels.

Responding, the Yauri District Manager of KEDCO, represented by Engineer Iliiya Danjuma said he heard all the complains, challenges and assured to forward to his superior officers for prompt actions.
