Niger state has earned its place as one of Nigeria’s leading agricultural hubs by demonstrating that agriculture remain the most practical path tọ prosperity, job creation and sustainable development.

 

Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu stated this while flagging off the twenty twenty six farming season and the distribution of mechanisation support equipments to farmers at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport Minna, Niger state.

 

Senator Oluremi Tinubu exolained that the Initiative by Niger state Government aligns with vision of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on boosting agriculture and food sufficiency in Nigeria and charged benefitiaries tọ make good use of the tools provided to them to enhance their status.

 

In his remarks Niger state Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago said they are not only opening a farming season but delivering tools and imputs that will change the lives of many people in Niger State and improve the entire agriculture value chain beyond the state and thanked President Tinubu for his support tọ the sub nationals to discharge their duties deligently.

 

Mohammed Umar Bago explained that two hundred and fifty tractors, fifty combined multi crop hervesters, one hundred and fifty farming implements and one hundred and fifty thousand bags of fertilizers arẹ tọ be distributed to support forty thousand small holder farmers across the twenty five Local Government Areas and applauded Senator Oluremi Tinubu for accepting to flag off the programme.

 

Minister Of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed idris said the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on investing in agriculture has been yeilding positive results, saying that two years ago President Tinubu was in Niger state tọ launch a similar agricultural project and today Senator Oluremi Tinubu is hẹre for similar event, signifying their quest for massive development of Agriculture in Nigeria.

 

Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi explained that the large landmass of Niger state had given it the opprtunity tọ lead in the Renewed Hope Agenda, targeted at job creation poverty reduction and increase in the productivity ọf farmers for the attainment of food security.

 

Niger State Commissioner of Agriculture, Alh Isah Sidi Rijau, said Governor Umar Bago has make it a policy that agriculture remain a tọp most priority and that he is passionate about it, that is why the state is leading to feed Nigeria.

 

Other dignataries that spoke at the occasion arẹ the National Chairman of APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, Emir of Agaie Alh Yusuf Nuhu, Senator Zainab Kure and the Pricipal Private Secretary to Niger state Governor, Mr Emnanuel Umar among othẹrs.
