The Nigerian Army says it will hold its annual Combat Arms Training Week, between the fourth to eight of May this year, at the Jaji Military Cantonment, in Kaduna State.

A statement by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, headquarters Infantry Corps Centre, Lt Colonel Polycarp Okoye says the training week is aimed at enhancing combat readiness, operational efficiency, as well as the tactical proficiency of combat formations and units in the Nigerian Army.

It explains that the event is expected to further evaluate ongoing military operations across various theatres of operation, while reviewing its operational procedures and enhance strategies to tackling operational challenges.

According to the statement, the event will feature delivery of strategic lectures, static display of Infantry and Armour equipment, firepower demonstration, amongst several other activities.

It urges residents within Jaji Military Cantonment, and those situated around it, not to panic on hearing sounds of gun shots during the period.

The statement equally advises farmers, hunters, and general users of the Cantonment Range and Exercise areas to stay off the stipulated areas throughout the period.
