Dr. Mustapha Mukhtar has been elected Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Danbatta Chapter, in an election described as peaceful and widely accepted by members of the academic community.

 

 

The election outcome has been described by stakeholders as a significant development within the institution.

 

 

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Mukhtar expressed appreciation to members of the union for the confidence placed in him, pledging to run an open, transparent, and inclusive administration.

 

 

He emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in advancing the objectives of the union, particularly in the areas of staff welfare, professional development, and the improvement of academic standards.

 

 

Dr. Mukhtar also stressed the need for sustained dialogue and collaboration between staff and management as a means of addressing challenges facing tertiary institutions, especially within the polytechnic and college of agriculture system.

 

 

Observers within the institution have described his election as timely, noting that stronger academic union leadership is essential for improving working conditions and ensuring effective representation of staff interests.

 

 

His tenure is expected to focus on unity, accountability, and constructive engagement aimed at promoting academic progress within the college community.
