The Nasarawa State Government has approved the selection of Suleiman Ahmed Eko as the new Osu Ajiri of Udege Chiefdom in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state.
The State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Aminu Mu’azu Maifata, disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Lafia, the state capital.
He said the duties of the traditional ruler commence immediately, and congratulated him on his elevation, wishing him success in his new role.
Alhaji Aminu Mu’azu Maifata further explained that the appointment was done in due consultation with the state traditional council of chiefs.
The Commissioner maintained that, the first class royal father of the Afo community was born on June 2, 1972 and is a graduate of the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa; he is happily married with children.
He noted that Suleiman Ahmed Eko succeeded the late traditional ruler, Alhaji Halilu Bala-Usman, a former deputy Governor of the old Plateau who died on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
