National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has assessed the Jigawa State pilgrims’ airport and Hajj camp facilities in preparation for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The delegation, led by the NAHCON Commissioner for North-West, Sheikh Muhammad Bin Uthman, was received on behalf of the Director General of the State Pilgrims Board by the Director of Administration and Finance, Alhaji Muhammad Umar Sambo.
In a statement made available to Radio Nigeria by the public relations officer of the board, Alhaji Habibu Yusuf Babura said, the team inspected screening facilities at the camp.
According to him, the team also inspected facilities at the Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi International airport in Dutse, the state capital.

Sheikh Bin Uthman expressed satisfaction with the state readiness to accommodate and screen all prospective pilgrims before their departure to the holy land.
He commended the Jigawa state government for its continuous support and commitment to the welfare of pilgrims, particularly in providing accommodation, health care, and other logistics for their sacred journey to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In 2025, Jigawa was recognized for its excellent organization and execution of Hajj operations, the NAHCON delegation expressed optimism that the state will maintain this standard in 2026.
