The National President of Tuareg Residents in Nigeria, Alhaji Ali Mohammed Agadez, has called for sustained peaceful coexistence and stronger interfaith relations between communities in the country.

Agadez made the call during a courtesy visit to Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru at his residence in Kaduna South, aimed at congratulating him on the successful completion of the 40-day Lenten fast.

The visit, which coincided with the Easter season, brought together members of the Tuareg community and its youth wing to promote unity, tolerance, and mutual respect among people of different religious backgrounds.

Speaking during the visit, Agadez said the gesture was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties and foster peaceful coexistence between the Tuareg community and Christian faithful.

He recalled that Pastor Buru and members of his church had earlier visited the Tuareg community during the end of Ramadan, where both groups shared moments of unity and understanding.

According to him, such exchange visits have continued to deepen relationships between Nigerians and citizens of the Niger Republic residing in Northern Nigeria.

“We are here to reciprocate the goodwill shown to us during Ramadan by congratulating Pastor Buru on the successful completion of Lent and to further strengthen our bond of brotherhood,” he said.

Agadez added that continued engagement between both communities would enhance unity and promote lasting peace.

In his response, the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru, expressed appreciation for the visit and described it as a demonstration of true interfaith harmony.

He noted that Nigeria and the Niger Republic share historical and cultural ties, stressing the need for sustained prayers and collective efforts to promote peace across the region.

Pastor Buru also called on African youths to reject violence and drug abuse, urging them to embrace peace and serve as responsible ambassadors of unity in their communities.
