Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Uba Sani, has led high-level engagements at the Kaduna Electric Franchise Energy Summit in London, as part of efforts to strengthen sustainable power supply and boost economic growth in the state.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, who described the summit as a significant step in the Governor’s broader agenda of industrialisation, investment promotion, and shared prosperity.
He noted that reliable energy remains a critical driver of development.
According to the statement, Governor Uba Sani’s participation underscores Kaduna State’s commitment to forging strategic partnerships and enhancing regional collaboration aimed at expanding energy access.
At the summit, the Governor engaged with investors and key stakeholders on scalable energy solutions, while also joining his counterparts from Zamfara and Kebbi States to promote regional cooperation in the power sector.
A major highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with ASI Engineering Limited to support power sector reform and infrastructure expansion.
Under the agreement, Kaduna State will invest ₦15 billion to acquire a 5.54 per cent equity stake in the company, translating into an indirect 4.13 per cent stake in Kaduna Electric.
The statement added that the investment is a strategic move to secure the state’s energy future, stimulate industrial growth, and improve the living standards of its residents.
