Kwara State Government has warned estate agents against exploiting residents for selfish gain in the estate management sector.

The Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Segun Ogunsola, gave the warning during a stakeholders engagement with delegates of the Estate Rent Commission Agents Association of Nigeria (ERCAAN) in his office in Ilorin.

The Commissioner stressed that regulating the sector is critical to enhancing the well-being of the citizens without placing unnecessary burdens on housing and advocated for the need to sanitize the sector.

He noted that the State Housing Corporation is saddled with the responsibility to sufficiently address housing management issues in the state.

Dr. Ogunsola urged estate managers to synergize with the agency to ensure effective regulation of the sector as well as provide optimal services to the people.
