Thousands of Muslim faithful, including the acting Governor of Zamfara State and some other top government officials, have attended and observed the two-raka’at Eid-el-Fitr prayers, marking the end of the Ramadan fast.

The prayers were held at the main Eid ground in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.

In his sermon shortly after the prayers, Sheikh Liman Mohammed Dan Alhaji Sambo emphasized the need for Muslims to always fear Allah in their daily activities.

He also prayed for lasting peace and development across Zamfara State and the country at large.

In his Sallah message, the Acting Governor of Zamfara State, Mani Malam Mummuni, on behalf of Governor Dauda Lawal, congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan and urged them to sustain the virtues of patience, sacrifice, and obedience to Allah beyond the holy month.

Malam Mummuni described Eid-el-Fitr as a moment of gratitude and reflection, he particularly advised youths to conduct themselves responsibly and avoid any actions capable of disrupting public peace during the Sallah celebration.e

The acting Governor extended prayers for those who lost their lives during the period, asked Allah to grant them eternal rest.

Mani Mallam Mumini also expressed appreciation to the people of the state for their continued prayers, noting that, the relative improvement in the security situation was as a result of collective supplications and cooperation with security agencies.

While calling for sustained prayers and support, Mani Malam Mummuni further urged citizens to continue to work with the government towards overcoming the remaining security challenges and achieving lasting peace in the state.

He noted that Zamfara State has continued to witness meaningful progress under the present administration and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering more developmental projects.

Mani Malam Mummuni who is also Deputy Governor of Zamfara State therefore called on the people of the State to continue supporting the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal in its efforts to reposition the state for greater growth and prosperity.

He assured that the government remains focused on ensuring that, Zamfara competes favorably with other states in Nigeria in terms of development and service delivery.

The Acting Governor wished all Muslims a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Some Muslim faithful who spoke to Radio Nigeria expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for sparing their lives to witness this year’s Eid-el-Fitr in good health.

Women, children, youths, and the elderly were not left out in observing the prayers.
