Kano State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children, and Persons with Special Needs, Amina Abdullahi , has urged stakeholders, community leaders, and development partners to intensify efforts to empower women and girls across the state.
Speaking on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Commissioner Amina described the celebration as a reminder of the vital role women play in building families, communities, and the nation’s development.
She emphasized that women remain key drivers of social and economic progress.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to promoting gender equity, protecting the rights of women and children, and creating opportunities that allow women to achieve their full potential.
She also commended Governor Yusuf for his continuous support of policies and programs that focus on empowering women, safeguarding vulnerable groups, and improving the welfare of women in Kano State.
Highlighting the importance of education, entrepreneurship, and leadership opportunities, Amina called on families, institutions, and organizations to actively support initiatives that uplift women and girls.
She also praised the courage, resilience, and achievements of women across the state, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence in all sectors.
“As we celebrate women today, let us renew our collective commitment to building a society where every woman and girl can excel without discrimination or limitation,” she said.
