Earthwell Climate Change & Environmental Initiative has emphasized the importance of stakeholder collaboration and continuous support for initiatives that promote gender equality, women’s empowerment, and inclusive development.
The Initiative also noted that such partnerships could serve as a strategic platform for awareness creation aimed at reducing the impacts of climate change—such as desertification, deforestation, and flood disasters—affecting women, children, and persons with disabilities across the country.
As the world marks this year’s International Women’s Day, the Initiative reaffirms its commitment to advocating for programs and policies that support women, advance girl-child education, and contribute to a more equitable and sustainable future for all.
In a statement, the Founder of the Initiative, Rashidat Abiola Niyi, acknowledged the critical role women play in building stronger communities, advancing sustainable development, and protecting the environment.
Rashidat emphasized the importance of collective and collaborative efforts among governments, civil society organizations, development partners, and community stakeholders to promote girl-child education, empower women, and address the persistent challenges of poverty and inequality affecting women and girls, particularly in vulnerable communities.
According to her, investing in the education and empowerment of the girl-child remains one of the most effective pathways to achieving sustainable development and creating lasting positive change in society.
She further noted that when women are empowered with the right opportunities, education, and resources, they become powerful agents of change capable of transforming families, communities, and nations.
