Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has said that only medically fit prospective pilgrims will be permitted by Saudi authorities to perform the 2026 Hajj.

The Director-General of the board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, stated this at Hadejia General Hospital during the official inauguration of the 2026 medical screening exercise for intending pilgrims from the state.

He further explained that, the exercise is part of preparations towards ensuring the health and safety of all the state intending pilgrims.

Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo pointed out that, the board is committed to strictly adhere to the Saudi Arabian regulations that only medically fit pilgrims will be allowed to perform this year’s Hajj exercise.

He noted that the ongoing exercise would be conducted with transparency and fairness in order to achieve the desired objectives.

Some of the prospective pilgrims commended the board for the smooth conduct of the exercise.

Radio Nigeria reports that, the DG was accompanied by the Director operations, Alhaji Muhammad Garba.
