The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially opened the sale of registration forms for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session.

According to a statement posted on the Board’s official X handle and signed by Registrar Ishaq Oloyede, the UTME is open to suitably qualified candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions.

Registration for the UTME begins on Monday, 26th January 2026, and closes on Saturday, 28th February 2026, while the examination is scheduled to take place from Thursday, 16th April to Saturday, 25th April 2026. An optional Mock-UTME will be held on Saturday, 28th March 2026.

Candidates must be at least 16 years old by 30th September 2026 to be eligible, although underage candidates may apply for a waiver following an intensive evaluation.

Such candidates must score at least 80% in UTME/A-Level, PUTME, SSCE, and the exceptional candidate assessment, and their results will be released only after completing the evaluation process.

For Direct Entry (DE) candidates, the sale of 2026 DE application forms and E-PINs will commence on Monday, 2nd March 2026, and close on Saturday, 25th April 2026, and will be available only at JAMB’s State and Zonal Offices.
