The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Zamfara State has promoted 77 officers as part of efforts to strengthen discipline, professionalism, and effective service delivery within the Corps.

Zamfara State Commandant of the NSCDC, Sani Mustafa, disclosed this during a decoration ceremony held at the Command’s headquarters in Gusau.

He said the promotions were based on officers’ performance in promotion examinations, dedication to duty, and commitment to service.

Commandant Mustafa explained that, the exercise aligns with the vision and mission of the Commandant General of the Corps, Dr Abubakar Audi, which prioritised the reward of hardworking, competence, and educational advancement among personnel who distinguish themselves in service to the nation.

He said the beneficiaries include five Deputy Commandants of Corps (DCC), six Chief Superintendents of Corps (CSC), five Deputy Superintendents of Corps (DSC), eleven Assistant Superintendents of Corps I (ASC I), three Assistant Superintendents of Corps II (ASC II), two Inspectors of Corps (IC), and thirty-seven Assistant Inspectors of Corps (AIC).

He also announced the promotion of the State Command Public Relations Officer, Mansur Mohamed M., to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Corps I (ASC I).

The Commandant further announced the redeployment of some senior officers to key departments within the command.

Those affected include DCC Godwin as Head of Budget, Planning and Statistics; DCC Usman Mohammed as Head of Crisis Management; Yusuf Bako as Head of Peace and Conflict Resolution; and Mrs Ngozi as Head of Exhibit Recovery.

While congratulating the newly promoted officers, Commandant Mustafa charged them to regard their elevation as a call to higher responsibility and urged them to remain disciplined, hardworking, and committed to the Corps’ mandate.

“This promotion is a challenge to those decorated. It is the will of Allah. You must work harder and remain committed to the service of the nation,” he said.

The ceremony was attended by senior officers of the Corps, family members, and well-wishers, marking another milestone in the NSCDC’s efforts to boost morale and operational effectiveness in Zamfara State.
