Sayyadi Ali bn Maulana Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi has called on parents and guardians to give priority to the moral and spiritual upbringing of their children by ensuring they acquire sound knowledge of the Qur’an and Islamic teachings.

He made the call during the graduation ceremony of students of M. Tahir Academy, held at Sabon Gero in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The cleric described the Qur’an as a divine blessing and a source of mercy (rahama) to mankind, stressing that those who acquire its knowledge and live by its teachings will be guided on the right path.

He commended parents and guardians for their dedication and sacrifices in supporting the Islamic education of their children, urging others to emulate their example by enrolling their wards in institutions that combine sound moral training with quality education.

Sayyadi Ali also offered prayers for the graduating students, encouraging them to continue studying and memorising the Qur’an in order to fully benefit from its spiritual rewards.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of All Islamic Schools in Chikun Local Government Area, Malam Umar Sanda, appealed to parents to closely monitor the activities and academic progress of their children.

He emphasised the importance of balanced education, advising parents to ensure that their wards acquire both Islamic and Western education to prepare them for future challenges.

In his remarks, the Proprietor of M. Tahir Academy, Sayyadi Shafiu Abdullahi, disclosed that the academy operates several branches across different locations, noting that similar graduation ceremonies were held simultaneously in those centres.

He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to nurturing students with strong moral values, religious knowledge and academic discipline.

The ceremony drew a large turnout of parents and guardians, including men and women, who gathered to celebrate the achievements of the graduating students and witness the completion of their Qur’anic and Islamic studies.
