Sokoto State Government has flagged off the disbursement of sixty million naira to six hundred youths trained in various skills under the State’s Skills Acquisition Program.

The governor, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Community Development, Alhaji Garba Maitumbi Kebbe, Presented cheques to beneficiaries held in Sokoto.

He said the training programs were aimed at empowering youths to become self-reliant and to contribute to the development of the state.

Ahmad Aliyu said his administration is committed to fostering the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises as a key driver of economic development in the state.

The Executive Secretary of the Sokoto State Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency, Hajiya Binta Usman, noted that the beneficiaries, trained by SOSMEDA and the Department of Community Development, received ₦100,000 each and working tools to support their entrepreneurial pursuits.

She added that the agency had trained over three thousand seven hundred and fifty youths in the state.
