Media professionals have been urged to uphold professionalism and ensure accurate reportage of events.
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq made the call in his message at the Official Inauguration of Emirate FM,98.5 held in Ilorin.
Represented by the State Commissioner for communications, Mrs. Bolanle Olukoju , governor AbdulRazaq said the establishment of the radio station is a good thing for the state.
According to him the state government will continue to provide enabling environment for private businesses to thrive and flourish.
AbdulRazaq advised the media professionals to shun all acts that are capable of undermining the security situation in the state and the country in general.
In a remark the National Coordinator of The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi said the event is a land mark that is supposed to be emulated .
He said the establishment of the radio station has impacted to the information dissemination outfit in the state.
Alhaji Abdullahi advised them to avoid the habit of airing fake news and projecting the state and the country in bad light.
The Coordinator urged the owners to used the medium to champion the cause of humanity.
For his part the founder of Emirate FM,98.5 Ilorin,” Abdulazeez Arowona said his passion for Journalism profession assisted in the establishment of the media outfit.
Abdulazeez Arowon assured his determination to use it in serving humanity, as well as ensure better growth and development of the state.
