Residents of Jabo Town in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State have been thrown in to a state of panic on Thursday night following a crash of an unidentified object suspected to be a military component or an explosive device.

The incident which occured at around 9:30 at night was reportedly caused by echo that shocked buildings before falling down to catch fire instantly.

On a telephone call, an eyewitness, Attahiru Madawaki told Radio Nigeria in Sokoto that the terrifying device hit the ground without killing or destroying any building at the affected area.

According to Madawaki soldiers stationed at a nearby checkpoint immediately moved to the scene in which they cordoned off the area and recovered the scattered parts of the device and took them to their base for further
investigation.

Despite no report of casualties, some residents at Jabo, as at the time of filing this report have refused to return to their various houses due to the fear of another explosion.

Also in Tangaza Local Government Area, residents confirmed another attacks on separate locations affecting a single building with no casualty.

A local government official, who requested anonymity, said the strikes occurred between 10 p.m. and midnight at Warriya and Alkasim villages in the local council.

The attacks was widely believed to be carried out by an American air strike .

Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the Sokoto State Police Command, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, for comments were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
