The Presidency has dismissed as false reports circulating on social media claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has replaced his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described the reports as a fabrication aimed at creating disharmony within the government.

According to the statement, Gbajabiamila remains the Chief of Staff to the President, while Hakeem Muri-Okunola continues in his role as Principal Private Secretary.

The Presidency stressed that there has been no change in either position.
“The viral claim is a fabrication by mischievous purveyors of fake news,” the statement said, urging Nigerians to disregard the information entirely.

The Presidency also called on media organisations and social media users to verify information before publishing or sharing it.
