The Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has extended warm greetings to the Christian community in Kano State and across Nigeria on the occasion of the 2025 Christmas celebration, describing the season as one that embodies love, sacrifice, unity and peaceful coexistence.

The message was contained in a statement issued and signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, to mark the annual Christian festival.
Governor Yusuf said Christmas provides a significant opportunity for reflection on the enduring values of peace, tolerance, compassion and selfless service to humanity, noting that these virtues are critical for harmonious living in a multi-religious and diverse society like Kano State.
He urged Christians in the state to use the festive period to promote peace, unity and collective progress, while calling on all residents, irrespective of religious or ethnic backgrounds, to continue living together in mutual respect and understanding.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting the rights of all citizens and ensuring an enabling environment where individuals can freely practice their faiths without fear or discrimination.
Governor Yusuf also appealed to religious leaders to sustain the preaching of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, stressing that unity remains the strongest foundation for sustainable development and social stability in the state.
