The National Security Adviser Malam Nuhu Ribadu has officially handed over the remaining one hundred and thirty victims of Saint Mary’s Catholic School Papiri that were abducted thirty days ago to the Niger state Governor Mohammed Umar Bago.

Speaking during the handover ceremony in Minna the state capital, the National Security Adviser, said the release of abducted teachers and students followed intense and coordinated operations by his office in conjunction with security agencies and critical stakeholders in keeping to the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to that effect

Represented by the Coordinator National Counter Terrorism Centre, Major General Adamu Garba Laka, Malam Nuhu Ribadu attributed the release of abducted teachers and students of Papiri to the sustain efforts of Department of State Security Service, General Officer Commanding two Division Nigerians Army with guidance of the Chief of Army Staff,  which have played greater role in ensuring success of the operation.

He however reaffirmed the determination of the Federal Government in safeguarding the lives and properties Nigerians stressing that the office of National Security Adviser is working in synergy with state Government’s to secure schools towards enhancing effective teaching and learning.

In his remarks  Niger state Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago who described the entire scenario as scary, thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Security Adviser, Security Agencies and all those that have contributed to the release of remaining pupils and teachers that will be assessed medically for onward conveyance to their families to enjoy the Christmas together.

Mohammed Umar Bago who thanked God for making it possible to achieve this great feat also congratulated their parents, Niger lites and indeed Nigerians for the release of remaining victims of Papiri, and assured of his readiness to safeguards lives and properties of Niger lites.
