The Jigawa State Government has approved over 2.6 billion naira for the 2026 Hajj operations.

Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed, stated this shortly after the State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House in Dutse, the state capital.

According to him, the SEC approved over 2.651 billion naira for the 2026 Hajj operations following a presentation by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed said, the funds will cover logistics, welfare, medical services and administrative arrangements and other components to ensure a smooth and well organized Hajj for Jigawa state pilgrims.

The Commissioner added that, the council also approved over 1.3 billion naira for bursary allowances to 19,716 newly screened students.

He pointed out that, 12,638 were males and 7,088 were females across 77 tertiary institutions.

He said, the funding supports education, reduces financial pressure on families, and promotes academic excellence.
