The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has expressed the hope that it will clinch more elective positions including the Presidency and the governorship seat in Katsina State in the 2027 general elections.
The newly sworn-in Chairman of the party in Katsina State, Alh Armaya’u AbdulKadir, stated this at the party’s state congress held in Katsina.
He said the party which prioritizes education, social welfare, youth empowerment and infrastructural development has endeared itself to Nigerians with the quality of leadership and representation it provides through its elected members who are serving at local government, state and national levels.
“The electorate has seen what our party has to offer, our elected and appointed members are serving in various capacities from the local government up to the federal level. Nigerians have seen our capacity and that is why we are confident in winning more seats in the 2027 general elections.
“Our National Party leader, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is poised to take over the Presidency while here in Katsina State we plan to choose very competent and promising candidates that will win the governorship and other elective positions in the general elections.”
AbdulKadir, who maintained that NNPP was becoming more popular among Nigerians, citing the recent defections of some members of other parties to NNPP, urged its members to mobilize more support for the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
The state party congress which produced 38 executive members through consensus was supervised by INEC and security agencies and witnessed by representatives of the national and zonal chapters of the party as well as hundreds of party members.
Alh Armaya’u AbdulKadir emerged as Chairman, Sani Arga Deputy Chairman, Tijjani Zakari Secretary, Umar Musa Organizing Secretary and Hauwa Abubakar as Woman Leader.
Earlier, chairman of the Congress Committee, Alh Muhammad Yusuf-Fagge commended the party delegates and members in the state for the decorum they displayed during the exercise and for adopting consensus which “made the process less challenging”.
He appealed to the party members in the state to continue to remain united, loyal and disciplined and to mobilize more membership and support for the party in the state.
