In continuation of his state-wide tour, Katsina State Governor, Dr. Dikko Radda, has received a former two-time state Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Salisu Majigiri, and dozens of his supporters into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
At a mega rally held in Mashi town, Majigiri alongside several erstwhile PDP chieftains gave up their membership of the key opposition party which has been losing ground in the state owing to leadership crisis and sharp division within its ranks.
“After wide consultations, myself and my loyalists in Mashi Local Government Area have this day decided to join the APC”, declared Majigiri who is the serving Member Mashi/Dusti Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, a position he clinched with a PDP ticket.
Citing what he called “competent leadership by Governor Dikko Umar Radda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”, the former PDP leader said he had no choice but to abandon the party and join the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Similarly, in Sabuwa Local Government Area, the governor formally received dozens of defectors from the PDP and other opposition parties, notably a former Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Sirajo Damari, and many of his loyalists.

Also received were the House of Representatives Member Representing Bakori/Danja constituency, a former Chairman of Faskari Local Government, Alhaji Nafi’u Garba, and many former councillors and PDP Chieftains who also defected from the PDP to the APC , citing the ruling party’s achievements in the state, particularly in the last two and a half years.
Receiving them during the various rallies, Governor Dikko Radda urged them to contribute to governance in their various capacities and unite with other party members in mobilizing support for the party in subsequent elections.
