The Kaduna State House of Assembly has received the 2026 Appropriation Bill, valued at ₦985,915,136,574.60, from the Executive Arm of Government.

Presenting the budget at the Assembly Complex, Governor Malam Uba Sani described the fiscal proposal as a budget of transformation and consolidation, aimed at driving inclusive development across the state.

He noted that the annual budget presentation is a solemn civic responsibility that offers an opportunity to reflect on collective achievements, evaluate ongoing progress, and clearly define the developmental direction for the coming year.

Governor Uba Sani explained that the proposed budget allocates ₦699,682,030,569.17 (71%) to capital expenditure and ₦286,233,106,005.44 (29%) to recurrent expenditure.

He stated that the capital component underscores the administration’s commitment to long-term development and asset creation. Sectoral allocations include: Education 25%; Infrastructure and Rural Transformation 25%; Health 15%; Agriculture and Food Security 11%; Security 6%; Social Development 5%; Environment and Climate Action 4%; Governance and Administration 5%.

In his remarks, the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yusuf Dahiru Liman, said the 2026 budget estimate reflects a clear focus on expanding rural infrastructure, strengthening human capital development, and ensuring that all communities benefit from inclusive and sustainable growth.

Speaker Liman commended Governor Uba Sani and his team for presenting a comprehensive and forward-looking budget that aligns with the administration’s vision of building a stronger and more prosperous Kaduna State.

He also lauded the governor for fostering unity, stability, and renewed optimism across the state, adding that the harmonious relationship between the Executive and Legislature, marked by non-interference upholds the principles of separation of powers and enhances effective checks and balances.
