The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shuaibu, has paid a maiden operational visit to the Headquarters of Operation Fansan Yamma in Zamfara State, where he commended frontline troops for their resilience and pledged to enhance support to strengthen ongoing operations.
Addressing soldiers during the visit, the Army Chief said his tour was aimed at assessing the operational environment, understanding key challenges, and appreciating the efforts of personnel deployed under Operation Fansan Yamma’s wide area of responsibility.
According to Lieu. Gen. Waidi Shu’aibu, he has received a detailed briefing from the Theatre Commander outlining some of the challenges they are facing and promised to address them.

He urged the troops to remain committed to the core values of the Nigerian Army and uphold professionalism in tackling security threats confronting the region.
The army chief described their service as noble and essential to safeguarding citizens.
“Your presence here has ensured that people go about their normal activities. Nigerians appreciate the work you are doing”.

The COAS also promised that, the welfare of personnel would receive top priority to enhance their effectiveness in ongoing operations.
During his visit, he held a closed-door meeting with principal officers of the command to review ongoing operations and strategize on enhanced responses to emerging threats.
The Chief of Army Staff was accompanied by the representatives of other service chiefs, including the Chief of Naval Staff, Nigerian Air Force.

Several other top-ranking military officers are also part of the delegation.
The Theatre Commander, Major General Warrah Bello Idris, welcomed the Chief of Army Staff during the visit.
