Thirteen members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) from Kano State in the House of Representatives have reaffirmed their loyalty to the party and the Kwankwasiyya Movement under the leadership of Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
They made the declaration while addressing newsmen in Abuja during a press conference led by Dr. Ghali Mustapha Tijjani, who spoke on behalf of all NNPP members in the House.
Speaking at the briefing, Garba Ibrahim Diso said they fully identify with the Kwankwasiyya Movement within the NNPP and its visionary leadership.
He, however, refuted false and malicious reports circulating across various social media platforms and other channels, alleging that the Kwankwasiya lawmakers in the Green Chamber are planning to defect to other political parties.
The Press conference came shortly after the defection of two of their colleagues Sagir Ibrahim Koki, member representing Kano Municipal federal constituency and Abdulmumini Jibrin representing Kiru-Bebeji from the NNPP to the ruling party APC during the house Plenary session.
In their separate letters read by the Speaker, Dr. Abbas Tajuddeen, on the floor of the House, the defecting members said their move to the ruling APC was due to the unending crisis in the NNPP.
