The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation has commended Governor Umar Namadi for his humility, simplicity, and commitment to development in Jigawa State.
Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and former Niger State Governor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the governor at Government House, Dutse.
He said the leadership style of Governor Namadi reflects the values of the late Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto, particularly in service and integrity.
Dr. Aliyu noted that the sense of order and hospitality observed in the state demonstrates the enduring legacy of the former Premier of Northern Nigeria.
He expressed delight at the positive feedback from residents, saying the administration has earned genuine respect and affection from the people.

The former governor called on northern leaders to emulate Jigawa’s community-centered governance approach and strengthen regional cooperation.
He also stressed the need to prioritize education as the foundation for sustainable development and agricultural transformation.
Dr. Aliyu highlighted the Foundation’s scholarship scheme and leadership programmes designed to uplift northern youths.
He announced that Jigawa will host the 2026 Sardauna Annual Lecture Series, which will feature public engagements, awards, and a dinner event.
Responding, Governor Umar Namadi thanked the Foundation for choosing Jigawa and reaffirmed his commitment to people-focused leadership and accountability.
He said the region must return to the values of unity, discipline, and collective progress championed by the Sardauna.
Governor Namadi assured full support for the 2026 lecture series and pledged to work closely with the Foundation for a successful event.
