Babura Local Government Council in Jigawa State has donated food items to inmates of the Babura Satellite Correctional Centre as part of its humanitarian outreach programme.
Speaking during the visit, Chairman Alhaji Hamisu Muhammad Garu said the gesture followed his earlier inspection of the facility, where he observed the immediate needs of the inmates.
He explained that the support was aimed at enhancing their welfare and encouraging them to embrace better lives after their release.
The Officer-in-Charge of the Babura Correctional Centre, ASP Muhammad Ali, expressed appreciation to the Council Chairman for the timely intervention, noting that the assistance came at a crucial period for the inmates.
While delivering his sermon to the inmates, The Chief Imam of Babura, Imam Salisu Aliyu, encouraged them to seek forgiveness from God, remain steadfast in faith, and embrace positive change.

Some of the items donated items included bags of maize, millet, rice, gari, vegetable oil, seasoning cubes, mosquito nets, and insecticide.
The dignitaries who accompanied the Chairman during the visit include the District Head of Babura, Sarkin Bai Ringim, Alhaji Muhammad Nata’ala Mustapha, the Divisional Police Officer of the local governments area, CSP Abdu Jinjiri and the Divisional Officer, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, CSC Sunusi Usman Chamo among others.
