Zamfara State Government is currently executing development projects worth over N140 billion across the fourteen Local Government Areas of the state.
The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Mahmud Dantawasa, disclosed this in a statement issued to Newsmen in Gusau.
According to him, the present administration has embarked on massive developmental projects across all the local government areas.
“Each local government is witnessing over N10 billion worth of projects, covering key sectors such as health, education, roads, agriculture, water supply, and commerce, reflecting the Governor’s vision for total transformation and inclusive development”
Dantawasa said that while several projects has been completed, others were still ongoing, a reflection of commitment to rebuild Zamfara and improving the welfare of its citizens.
He explained that five-kilometre township roads were being constructed in each of the 13 LGAs, excluding Gusau, where larger-scale infrastructure projects are underway.
The roads, according to him, are already easing traffic, connecting communities, and stimulating both rural and urban commerce.
The commissioner also noted that the renovation and upgrading of general hospitals across all senatorial zones are in progress which included the construction of a new General Hospital at Nasarawa Burkullu in Bukkuyum LGA, fully equipped with modern medical facilities, as well as the upgrading of Primary Health Centres in rural communities to enhance access to quality healthcare.
In the education sector, Dantawasa said the government had embarked on a comprehensive rehabilitation of schools across the state including supply of furniture, textbooks, and learning materials, alongside the recruitment and training of teachers.
Other key projects, according to him, include the construction of the Mallamawa–Bukkuyum–Masamar Mudi Road in Bukkuyum LGA, designed to boost agricultural and commercial activities, and an ultra-modern market at Nasarawa Burkullu to promote local trade and support small businesses.
Dantawasa added that the administration is also investing in rural electrification, motorised boreholes, and the expansion of water supply networks to ensure access to safe drinking water in rural and urban communities.
It would be recalled that in August 2025, Governor Lawal inaugurated an 11.65-kilometre road project linking Rawayya, Furfuri, and Kurya Madaro in Bungudu and Kauran Namoda LGAs, valued at N6.6 billion.
The project, expected to be completed within 12 months, aims to improve transportation, boost local trade, and enhance connectivity across the state.
