Residents of Akanbi Ward 4 in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State have expressed commitment in the ongoing Measles-Rubella vaccination campaign aimed at safeguarding the health of the children across the state.

Speaking on the acceptability of the programme in Ilorin,the Magaji of Fate Area, Alhaji Abdul-Mumin Ayoku, said the community sensitization contributed significantly to the high level of participation recorded.

Alhaji Ayoku emphasized that the positive response from residents was a result of deliberate efforts to enlighten the people on the need to protect children from preventable diseases.

In a remarks, the supervisor of the health personnel for the area, Mrs. Jamiu Zainab, disclosed that the team had earlier informed community leaders, as well as heads of both public and private schools, about the exercise to ensure smooth implementation.

She expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation received from the residents, attributing the success of the campaign in the area to effective sensitization and support from community leaders.
